HOW TO START A LOCAL CHAPTER OF SMI

You can start a local branch or a community group of SMI by filling out the membership application forms and sending the completed forms to the International Headquarters of SMI in Australia via email or the contact address below. An acknowledgement mail will be sent to you. You can then set up a governing board and register your local SMI with the appropriate government agency in charge of registering charity, non-profit organizations in your country. You can conduct meetings or seminars where you can discuss issues affecting women/ mothers within your community and collectively proffer possible solutions to these problems. You can also, conduct fund-raising, receive donations or seek assistance from other organizations, groups or individuals in order to meet-up with the financial obligations required to execute any project / programs designed by your local unit of SMI. After a probation period, SMI-Headquarters will send you a certificate of honour congratulating you and your group. You and some members of your group would have the privilege of participating in SMI's international programs held in various countries periodically. Your exemplary service will enable SMI-Headquarters to mobilize funds and sponsor some of your local SMI’s project(s) in your country.
